Internationally acclaimed, virtuoso violinist, Alexander Markov performed for students at Middlesex Middle School on Monday, May 18. Mr. Markov is a gold medal winner of the International Paganini Competition and performs as a concert violin soloist around the world. His recordings of the famed Paganini Caprices has been claimed as “without peer” and he will be performing classical selections as well as his original “Rock Concerto” at Carnegie Hall on June 5. In addition to performing classic standards, Mr. Markov, a graduate of Darien High School, displayed and performed his custom made, gold electric violin for the students and played excerpts from his “Rock Concerto.
