The students and teachers in the DHS Music Department recently welcomed a new Yamaha C7X grand piano to the auditorium stage. In order to demonstrate the quality and possibilities of the new piano, Dr. Russell Hirschfield, from Western Connecticut State University, was invited to DHS to perform for the Music students on Friday. November 6. Dr. Hirschfield performed several classic piano works for the students from various historic eras, including Claude Debussy’s Clair de Lune, and then held a question and answer session with the students.
The staff and students are anxious to use the new piano in their performances and are grateful for the opportunity to perform on such a high quality instrument.
